    Thanks for your feedback. We are working towards supporting this kind of functionality and much more. We just added the ability to search and have lots of custom dashboards that we want to do as well.

  3. Add a horizontal scale or indicator to the history chart on the dashboard

    The Exception History chart could use a horizontal scale or some sort of indication of the time/date range of the horizontal axis.

    By default the chart scale will be from the First occurrence to the current time as shown above in the boxes. We want to add a bar below that allows you to show events like a new version was released etc.. How do you think this should be changed? Do you have any examples?

  5. Provide an option for combined summary emails

    I now have a few projects in Exceptionless, and I am receiving daily summary emails from each project.

    I previously entered a suggestion about adding a little more information to the daily summary emails, but now I have a couple of other concerns:
    - the daily summary emails arrive at very different times for each project (I receive one at about 1am, a different project late morning, and another one early in the afternoon)
    - as I continue to migrate more projects to Exceptionless, the number of daily summary emails will increase potentially to the point of becoming very cumbersome.

    We always try to send the email after 8-9am in your local time every morning. This is placed in a queue and sent whenever the system has time.

    It would be nice to be able to specify a general time of day to send reports. Would you mind submitting a pull request for this functionality? One would need to create a new setting on the project and update the Daily Notification job (https://github.com/exceptionless/Exceptionless/blob/master/Source/Core/Jobs/DailyNotificationJob.cs).

    I really do like the idea of having a organization summary. How do you think this would work? Do you think this should just be the default email that is sent? What if you don’t care about a project?

  6. Add more information to the no-errors daily summary email

    If there have been no recent errors, the daily summary email for a project doesn't state much more than "The project was exceptionless!".

    It would be helpful if this "no-errors" email included a little more information, such as perhaps the most recent error and how many days ago it was; or the counts of exceptions for the past 30 days.

    I’ll bring this up with the team and see what we can do. I do see us changing the name of the emails to be smarter and maybe showing the last two errors. However, if you get into deep analytics it could tax the system just for sending out a daily summary..

  7. Allow for defaults for notifications options

    When I set up a new project, I would like to be able to set default notification options for all users that I then add to the project.

  8. Provide ability to surface notifications of fixes on client

    Right now you can mark an error as fixed. It would be nice to see if we can surface that on the client (through whatever notification the client would choose). For example I mark an exception as fixed and the next time the client visits my site/runs my app/etc. a notification comes up saying "XYZ was fixed" (or something to that effect). Exceptions probably shouldn't be something you notify someone but if the system starts letting us log non-exceptions this might be useful to some?

    I’m adding this to the backlog as a feature we may add in the future. It’s currently not on our road map. We are currently working hard to make the client very generic so we can make many more native clients as well as add the ability to search.

    One thing you may want to integrate with is our web hooks, in which you could get the error object and end user info when an error is mark as fixed and then contact them via your website / application.

  9. Send additional detail in email notifications

    The email notification sends a very brief summary of the exception (type, message, and URL). I then need to click the link in the email to view the error details at the web site.

    It would be helpful to also receive the exception stack trace in the email; that would allow me, in most cases, to immediately start investigating the error in the source code.

    You could make this an option in notification settings if you don't want to send the stack trace to all users.

  10. Provide the ability for a User in the Organization to take ownership of an exception

    In our organization, many of us are watching exceptionless closely (we even have audio notifications in our development room). So, we frequently jump on investigation of issues reported by exceptionless. Unfortunately, a side-effect is that we have more than one person looking at (and fixing) the same issue. Conversely, we have had times when a recurring issue is ignored.

    It would be great to have a way to "take ownership" (or assign ownership?) of an exception to show that it's being worked.

    This is something we are considering adding in a future release. We’d recommend using an issue tracker along with the promote to external feature on the stack page. We have some preconfigured hooks on zapier.com for creating new cards on trello and adding a reference link / mark as fixed when a card is moved to done.

  11. Provide a single command to allow me to "Hide and Disable" an Exception.

    This would be on the Exception stack page where I see total occurrences, first occurrence, and last occurrence. In the "Options" button fly-out menu, Id like to be able to both "Hide From Reports" and "Disable Notifications" with a single action. Right now it takes me four clicks to do both.

  12. Grouping in Projects dropdown at Dashboard

    Hello,

    We have several products and each of them have multiple environments (dev, demo, pre-production, production). For each product in each environment we create a separate project so in case of just 4 products the number of projects reches 16. All of them shown in a plain dropdown list on dashboard that is difficult to navigate. Would be really cool if we were able to group the projects one way or another and so the projects are displayed grouped in the dropdown. In Insight we've been using tags for this purpose.

    We have been thinking about this as well. I’d like to come up with some sort of elegant solution for the multiple environments thing. One possibility is that we give the ability to specify an environment string in the config and that would basically just add a tag to the errors, then in the admin UI you would be able to filter by tags.
